CM Mann blames weather department for faulty forecasts, holds it responsible for floods

Chandigarh, September 26, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday came down heavily on the Meteorological Department, alleging that its inaccurate predictions were a major reason behind the recent floods in the state.

Mann said the forecasts on rainfall turned out to be wrong as the state received much heavier downpour than predicted. “Such heavy rain has never been recorded in history,” he remarked.

Taking a dig at the Opposition, Mann said, “We have not convened the session for politics or to listen to abuses, but to address the real issues faced by people.”

He underlined the devastation caused by the floods, stating that not only homes but also people’s dreams
