It’s been nearly a year since jewelry store owner Hussein Murray was beaten to death in his Rochester Hills home.

On Monday, jury selection is scheduled to begin in Oakland County Circuit Court for the trial of Murray’s two alleged killers, Carlos Hernandez, 38, and Joshua Zuazo, 40 — both of Dearborn. The two reportedly gained access to Murray’s home by posing as DTE workers investigating a gas leak.

Murray, 72, was found dead Oct. 11, 2024 in the basement of his Rochester Hills home on Newcastle Drive. Murray’s wife, Linda Murray, who reportedly had been in the kitchen at the time — unaware of what was happening to her husband — had subsequently been restrained with duct tape but later freed herself and called 911.
