Europe blazed their way to a blistering start to the 45th Ryder Cup, and might have stolen the advantage with the latest bout of mind games.

Luke Donald's team overcame an early barrage from Bryson DeChambeau in the opening game to win the first three foursome matches in the opening session.

It was the first time in Ryder Cup . history they’ve done so on American soil and if Brandel Chamblee is to be believed, Europe’s work away from the course is paying off.

Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton took down Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas 4&3, followed by Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood defeating Collin Morikawa and Harris English 5&4.

Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick handled world No.1 Scottie Scheffler and debutant Russell Henley with a 5&3 victory.
