One metro teacher said Oklahoma schools need better leadership and improvement. On Wednesday, State Superintendent Ryan Walters resigned.

Oklahoma social studies teacher Aaron Baker went viral on TikTok , sharing concerns about the Bible Walters promoted. Now that Walters is on his way out, he said Oklahoma has an opportunity it can’t afford to waste.

“He was the state superintendent that we never knew that we didn’t need," Baker said.

On Wednesday, Baker shared his concerns about a Bible Walters pushed in classrooms across the state.

“I was raised mostly to be apolitical,” Baker said. “I still consider myself a Christian, but I have never embraced anything that would marry those two worlds into one.”
