OXBOW, N.D. — The Concordia Cobbers men’s golf team hammered balls to and fro on a windy Thursday afternoon on the driving range at Oxbow Country Club.

The Cobbers were fine tuning their swings ahead of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship. The three-day event begins Saturday, Sept. 27, and ends Monday, Sept. 29 at Edinburgh Golf Club in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.

“We’re hoping to put it all together,” said Concordia junior Ryan Engel.

Engel leads the Cobbers, averaging 73.5 strokes over six rounds. He fired a 71 at the Augsburg Fall Invitational and said he's found success hitting his irons and wedges.

Sophomore Mitchell Dewey holds a 76.8 scoring average. Hitting fairways off the tee box has been a difference maker for Dewey.
