New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has today brought back a wanted fugitive, Parminder Singh, also known as Nirmal Singh or Pindi, from the UAE through Interpol channels.
Singh was wanted by Punjab Police in a case involving extortion, offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for raising funds for terrorist acts, attempted murder, and criminal intimidation.
He had fled India and had been absconding for a long time.
“The International Police Cooperation Unit (IPCU) of the CBI, in collaboration with the MEA, MHA, NCB-Abu Dhabi, and Punjab Police, coordinated to bring back the accused on September 26. He was escorted by a team of Punjab Police from the UAE,” a senior police official said.
