BROOKLINE, Mass. —

Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying a man they say may have been involved in an attempted break-in last week.

Brookline police say on Sept. 18, around 3:42 a.m., a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt, light-colored sweatpants, a flat-brimmed baseball hat and sneakers with a Nike logo entered the side gate of a Brookline Village home.

Police say the man is not wanted at this time.

Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call detectives at 617-730-2711.
