The Yuma Public Works Department is set to launch its Fall Pavement Preservation Program on Wednesday, Oct. 1, focusing on improvements in subdivisions and major arterial, collector and local streets.

City crews conduct major surface treatments twice a year to maintain roadway conditions, utilizing oil, slurry and chip seal treatments.

Roadwork is scheduled to continue through November, taking place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. Some weekend and holiday work will minimize the impact on busier streets.

Drivers should be aware of lane restrictions and road closures, anticipate delays and allow extra time for travel. Motorists can expect to be notified by message boards ahead of scheduled work.
