Butler church to host active shooter training for houses of worship

Butler Global Church is hosting an active shooter preparedness and response training Oct. 16.

The free training will run from 6 to 9 p.m. at 200 E. North St. and includes a presentation from Bob Winters, a protective security adviser for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Members of all faiths and religions are encouraged to attend, according to the event flyer.

Attendees must register using the link to the event page at www.eventbrite.com. The training is presented by Homeland Security and the Butler County Department of Emergency Services.
