CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Two UVA researchers are trying to use focused ultrasound a a potential treatment for addiction and substance-use disorder.
The procedure started at UVA Health to treat essential tremor and Parkinson’s disease symptoms. Now, Dr. James Mahoney and Dr. Daisy Thompson-Lake, researchers who recently joined UVA’s Center for Leading-Edge Addiction Research, believe it could have other uses.
