DODGEVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) - A $500,000 bond was set Friday in Iowa County Court for a Dodgeville man accused of killing a woman whose body was found in Nebraska.

Gavin Thompson, 23, appeared at 2 p.m. for a bail hearing at the Iowa County Courthouse.

The judge stated a significant bond was necessary because of the severity of the charges against Thompson. If he posts bond, Thompson would need to wear a GPS monitor, not have any dangerous weapons and not have any contact with immediate family members of the victim. He also would need to be at his home from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. daily and would not be allowed to leave the state.

A competency hearing was scheduled for Dec. 12.
