Old pals Keegan O’Neil and Erik Andersen are reunited again.

And isn’t that what Western Homecoming is all about?

The Mustangs veteran left guard and left tackle have helped power a running attack that has averaged 301 ground yards heading into the McMaster tussle Saturday (1 p.m. at Western Alumni Stadium). No other team in Ontario university football has cracked 190 yards per contest.

That stat is a testament to the entire offensive line, which was made whole when O’Neil returned after missing the entire 2024 season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.

“I’m just blessed to be out there,” said the six-foot-three, 319-pounder from Belle River. “The first couple of games were to get the rust off and I feel Erik and I will become what we were before and keep rolling.”
