BELLEFONTE, Pa. (WTAJ) — After years of planning and work, Centre County unveiled its new $30 million Community Services Building.

The three-story, 118,000 square foot building is at 502 E. Howard St. in Bellefonte. Built in the 1930s, it was originally the home of Centre Crest, a nursing home. Centre Crest moved out several years ago and rebranded to Centre Care, leaving the building unoccupied. The county took it over and transformed it into its new Community Services Building, coming in "relatively close" to the roughly $30 million budget, according to Mark Higgins, chair of the Centre County commissioners.

The building now homes several of the county's services: • Office of Aging • Adult Services • Children & Youth Services • Elections Office • Veterans' Affairs • Office
