(WAND) - Embrace the wonder and beauty of your local national park this weekend during National Public Lands Day.
All national parks that charge entrance fees will offer free admission to attendees Saturday, Sept. 27, according to the National Park Service .
The NPS stated that National Public Lands Day has been observed on the fourth Saturday in September annually since 1994 and is the largest single-day volunteer effort in the country.
In 2024, the NPS shared that over 7,600 volunteers nationwide donated roughly 41,500 hours of service.
