A New Jersey man has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for shooting his former wife to death .
Lucus Cooper, 41, of Jersey City will have to serve at least 85% of the sentence — 21 years, three months before he is eligible for parole, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday.
Cooper gunned down Temara King, 35, on Jan. 24, 2023 in a third-floor apartment at Toy Factory Apartments on Bergen Avenue, officials said.
He was arrested in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania hours after the shooting and charged with murder, weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child.
He later pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter.
