ARLINGTON, Texas —

Police officers in Texas gave a man a ride to his estranged wife's home, despite a protective order that was in place. He is now charged with murder in connection with her death.

"The department acknowledges that the officers should not have arranged transportation back to the home," Arlington police said in a news release . "Additionally, the department is conducting a comprehensive administrative review to determine whether changes to policy and / or procedures are necessary to ensure this does not happen again."
