The Montana State football team has won all four of its games against Eastern Washington so far this decade, matching its win total against EWU the previous two decades combined.

While Brent Vigen flipped the EWU script when he became MSU’s head coach in 2021, the red turf at Roos Field remained somewhat hellish. The Cats escaped Cheney, Washington, with a 23-20 win in 2021 and earned an even closer three-point win there a year later (against an EWU team that finished 3-8). Last season at Roos Field, the Eagles (who finished 4-8) tied MSU late in the third quarter and trailed by one score until late in the fourth.
