Growing up, I was your typical bookworm, losing myself in narratives of mystery, romance, and the supernatural. However, none of the classics quite hit the spot like Pride and Prejudice does. Jane Austen's iconic work shows a woman unwilling to accept the conventions of her day and refusing to marry an idiot, or indeed, anyone whom she doesn't love. Despite its traditional yet modern sensibilities, it feels defiant. It struck a chord.

So, when I learned that the beautiful Georgian city of Bath had a Jane Austen Festival every year, I was excited to find out more.
