A growing share of Americans are turning to TikTok for news, with one in five adults now saying they regularly use the platform to stay informed – up sharply from just 3% in 2020, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis.

TikTok, best known for its short-form videos and popularity among teenagers, has become a significant news source for younger adults. The survey found that 43% of adults under 30 now regularly get news on TikTok, compared with just 9% five years ago.
