The Last Chance Community Pow Wow returns for its 26th year Sept. 26-28, celebrating Native American culture, inclusion and the next generation at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds.

This year’s theme, “Honor the Children,” reflects the powwow’s mission to teach youth the traditions of Native American culture and to share them with peers, building understanding between Native and non‑Native communities.

Helena-area students attended Friday's opening day, participating in dancing and learning more about Indigenous culture.

The event is free and the public may attend at 98 W. Custer Ave.

The event includes vendors, with Native arts, crafts and more in the Exhibit Hall. Food includes frybread, Pow Wow Indian Tacos and concessions and intertribal and round dances open to all attendees.
