EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - After weeks in the dark, a neighborhood is illuminated once again at night.

“You see this look on my face? Thank you so much, I am ecstatic, I don’t know what magic you worked or what you did, but I think shining a light on a problem through the media works,” said Yvette Gary.

On Sept. 17 , Gary told 19 News about an outage on East 134th Street in East Cleveland.

She said the street lights had been out since the start of September, and she was concerned about her 92-year-old father’s safety because he lives on the street.

“We were told to give them five days, well, that was over a month and a half ago,“ said Gary at the time. “My main concern was if there was an emergency, how would first responders be able to find the house?” said Gary at the time.
