Greensboro police announced they have made an arrest in the 2022 killing of NC A&T State University student Kaneycha Turner, 19.

"The Greensboro police departments Violent Criminal Apprehension team ... located and arrested 20-year-old Rishon Elias Weaver in the homicide of Keneycha DeLaine Turner," Rick Alston, Greensboro assistant police chief, said during a Friday afternoon press conference.

He was arrested without incident and charged with first degree murder, Alston said.

The shooting in question took place on Oct. 25, 2022, off campus at the Cottages apartment complex in the 900 block of Circle Drive at what was described as an outdoor block party that was not a sanctioned N.C. A&T Homecoming event.
