BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Highway Department will close a section of Tunnelton Road on Monday, Sept. 29, to complete paving work on areas damaged by flooding.
The closure will run from the underpass in Tunnelton to the White River Bridge, including River Road near the bridge. Crews will begin work at 8 a.m., and the roadway is expected to reopen by 3 p.m., if not sooner.
Highway officials said the paving project is necessary to repair surfaces impacted during recent flooding. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the temporary closure.
