CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A now-former Hamilton County assistant prosecutor resigned after screenshots of his social media post circulated online.

Ryan Nelson, 54, submitted his resignation letter to Hamilton County Prosecutor Connie Pillich Friday.

According to the letter, he was placed on administrative leave Sept. 15 “as a result of a private social media post that was screen captured.”

Our media partners at the Cincinnati Enquirer say the post was in regards to Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was assassinated at Utah Valley University Sept. 10.
