LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A short pursuit ended with police officers shooting a suspect in western Arizona on Thursday evening.

Just before 6:30 p.m., Lake Havasu City police officers were called to investigate a domestic violence call on Rolling Hills Drive , north of state Route 95. As officers arrived, they saw the suspect drive away from the scene.

Shortly afterward, officers spotted the vehicle a mile away near SR 95 and Havasu Riveria Parkway . Police said the driver initially slowed down and stopped then sped away from police.

Officers chased after the driver for a mile, but the pursuit ended after the driver misjudged a turn near Copper Canyon Drive and The Ridges Way .

Police said suspect then got out of his car, which is when authorities shot him. Investigators
