Senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa Friday demanded Water Resources Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal resign immediately and that Principal Secretary (Water Resources) Krishan Kumar be suspended for “mismanaging” the outflow from Ranjit Sagar Dam and for the floods in Punjab.

Speaking during the special session of Vidhan Sabha, the Leader of Opposition demanded a time-bound investigation by a sitting High Court judge into the cause of floods. He said the government had suspended three lower rung officials but the minister and the secretary are responsible for the fiasco.
