The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported that a woman in her 60s from Middlesex County and a man in his 50s from Suffolk County have been exposed to the virus through mosquito bites.
Dr. Sundeep Shukla, Associate Chief Medical Officer at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, emphasized the importance of taking precautions against mosquito bites. "It's really imperative to protect yourself when you're outside," Dr. Shukla said. "Really refrain from being outside when it's dusk and dawn, where they are more prevalent, and also you can use mosquito repellent."
