All traffic is being held on the M5 southbound near Gloucester this afternoon (Saturday, September 27) following a crash, according to traffic reports.

Traffic monitoring website Inrix reported at 1.50pm: "All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M5 Southbound at M5 (Gloucester Services).

"Services are located between J11A (Gloucester/Cirencester) and J12 (Quedgeley/Hardwicke). Diversion via the entry and exit slip roads of the services."

Maps show traffic is queueing from Gloucester Services up to Hucclecote. AA Traffic News is reporting delays of almost 10 minutes on top of expected traffic, and average speeds of just 10mph.

It is not yet known how many vehicles are involved, or whether any injuries have been reported.
