When ticket prices for the 2025 Ryder Cup were released nearly a year ago, many were infuriated by the hefty price tag. Wednesday tickets for the practice round were listed at $255.27, Thursday tickets that included celebrity matches and practice round were offered up for $423.64, while matchday tickets for Friday through Sunday were available for a whopping $749.51.

It makes sense. After four long years of waiting, the storied event came to Bethpage Black on Long Island, as the Americans looked to bring the trophy home after the European team won in Rome in 2023.

Despite the sky-high prices, the tickets for the event sold out in almost no time, according to the PGA of America.

And then, prices climbed even higher as the tournament approached. As of Sept. 8, a Friday ticket was going for nearly $1,400, for just a grounds pass, and VIP tickets were available for as much as $10,000.

But after a lackluster start, fans have seemed quick to bail on the American squad, as evidenced by the plunging ticket prices.

Here's a look at the prices for Sunday grounds passes at different times:

  • When announced: $749.51 (through PGA of America)
  • As of Sept. 8: $845 (on Seat Geek)
  • On Saturday at 3 p.m. ET: $383 (on Seat Geek)

The play of the U.S. team certainly didn't help matters. No road team had ever won the first three sessions of the biennial bout since Continental Europe became a team in 1979. Team Europe accomplished that after its foursomes win Saturday morning.

The Europeans won Friday foursomes 3-1 before taking Friday four-ball 2½-1½. Then on Saturday, it was another dominant showing in foursomes, winning 3-1 and clinching a bit of Ryder Cup history. The visitors held a five-point edge heading into the late round on Saturday.
