WASHINGTON (WCBD) – The Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, said it is supporting southeastern states ahead of possible impacts from Tropical Depression 9 (future Imelda) should it near the coast.
It comes after Governor Henry McMaster declared a state of emergency on Friday, at the direction of President Donald Trump in coordination with the Secretary of Homeland Security.
“While states and local partners lead preparedness efforts in their communities, FEMA is actively engaged with Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia to assist with needs that may overwhelm their capabilities,” said FEMA.
