As the Mets face a difficult fight for the postseason with two games remaining, New York called up top prospect Dylan Ross on Saturday to help out in the bullpen.

The Mets entered the day tied for the third and final National League wild-card spot with the Cincinnati Reds, who own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Mets should both teams finish with the same record.

Ross was called up from Triple-A Syracuse, where he notched a 1.69 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched over 28 relief outings. Across three minor league levels this season, the right-hander had a 2.17 ERA, seven saves and 80 strikeouts in 54.0 innings across 49 relief appearances.
