Duquesne was able to bounce back from a 1-3 start, dismantling New Haven 44-18 at Rooney Field on Saturday. The Dukes used their lethal rushing attack to smother the Chargers, totaling 298 rushing yards on the afternoon.
Duquesne started the game with an errant snap, losing 10 yards from the recovery and going three and out afterward. New Haven opened its offensive attack with a 56-yard strike to Joshua Tracey, giving the Chargers a 6-0 lead on their first offensive play of the game.
Dukes running back Taj Butts ripped a 50-yard rush to get the Dukes in the red zone, but the offense stalled, leading to a fourth down. Duquesne missed its field goal attempt, keeping the score at 6-0.
