Pau Torres doesn’t expect any preferential treatment from Unai Emery as he looks to cement his place in Aston Villa’s starting XI.
The centre-back made his third start of the season in Villa’s seventh match of the campaign — a 1-0 Europa League win over Bologna on Thursday night.
It was the club’s first victory of the season and, although the performance was not especially inspiring, Torres impressed on the left side of defence, winning eight duels and completing 52 of his 55 passes, seven of which entered the final third.
