SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has released bodycam footage of an officer involved shooting that took place last month.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2025, officers responded to the 800 block of Cherry Street after receiving reports of a man shooting a shotgun and pointing it at people in the area.

Upon arrival, SAPD says officers were able to establish a perimeter around the suspect's home before he opened a side door and allegedly pointed the shotgun in the direction of the responding officers.

SAPD said five officers then opened fire, striking the suspect.

The suspect was identified as 41-year-old Jamie Gonzalez and SAPD said he died on the scene, but no officers or bystanders were injured during the incident.
