Sarah Michelle Gellar is clarifying something important about the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer television show.

The 48-year-old actress wants people to know that the upcoming series won’t be a “reboot” of the beloved supernatural teen drama, but a “continuation” that is set within the Buffy universe.

Sitting down to chat with Entertainment Tonight , Sarah confirmed that the new story will pick up 25 years after the original ended.

There wasn’t much she could tease yet about what to expect, but she did share that the experience has been “equal parts incredibly thrilling, but also it’s very nerve-wracking.”
