Blockbusters represent the biggest, if not always the boldest, films that Hollywood has to offer. They've been a major part of the movie-going season since they became official in the '70s. Though there were big hits before that time, several key releases completely changed the game for how studios would schedule their releases and turned summer into blockbuster prime time.
