FLORIDA, USA — Two hundred and fifty workers and contractors from Duke Energy will be deployed Sunday to the Carolinas to offer support, a spokesperson from Duke Energy Florida said.
Due to Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine (formerly known as Invest 94L ) expected to turn into Hurricane Imelda this weekend, Duke Energy said it will send power utility crews, trucks and Duke Energy Florida's Mobile Command Center .
Crews will be "staged and ready to rapidly respond into effected areas and restore power as soon as it is safe to do so," the spokesperson said.
"During the company's emergency activation and response to hurricanes Debby, Helene and Milton, Duke Energy Florida mobilized more than 27,000 workers and additional resources to restore power for approximately 2 million impacted cus
