On Saturday at 12:56 p.m. the National Weather Service released a wind advisory valid from Sunday 2 p.m. until Monday 11 a.m. for Eastern Curry County and Josephine County.
“South to southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph expected,” says the weather service. “Many area trees still have foliage, and this could place additional wind stress on any weakened or damaged branches and trunks. Additionally, these gusty winds will pose an increased risk for hazards from wildfire snags.”
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” states the weather service. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.”
