Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 will hit theatres on October 2, 2025. This Kannada film acts as a prequel to the 2022 hit Kantara. It takes place in the time of the Kadamba dynasty and looks at the early story of Berme.

Directed and written by Rishab Shetty for Hombale Films, the film has big scenes. One war part used over 500 fighters and close to 3,000 actors. They shot it on a 25-acre site in Karnataka’s hills, and it took about 50 days. Filming wrapped up in July 2025. The movie’s music is produced by B. Ajaneesh Loknath, just like in the first film. Its first song, “Brahmakalasha,” came out on Saturday, September 27th.
