Indiramma Canteens, with the addition of breakfast at ₹5 per head, have been launched in Hyderabad by city in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Monday (September 29. 2025).
Indiramma canteens are a rehashed version of the ‘Annapurna Canteens’ providing meals at ₹5 per head which were initially launched in March, 2014 by the GHMC.
The Corporation spends ₹14 for each breakfast and ₹24.83 for each meal at Indiramma Canteens, as per a statement. This will alleviate the burden of ₹3,000 per month on each person availing the benefit, it said.
