Actor Rishab Shetty is all set to bring back the 'Kantara' magic to the big screen with its prequel, 'Kantara: Chapter 1'. Ahead of its much-anticipated release, the National Award-winning actor spoke to India Today about how his entire village came together to make the film. He also opened up about the extensive research that went into making the film, since it involved going back to the 4th-5th century.

In 2022, the film's first instalment not only emerged as the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time but also got the actor his first-ever National Award. The film received the Best Popular Film Award at the 70th National Film Awards apart from receiving international recognition.
