INDIANAPOLIS — All eyes were on the sky in downtown Indianapolis as dozens of balloons were released on Sunday, Sept. 28, to honor 31-year-old Aaron Radford.

His mother Dara said it is difficult to come back to the site of the crash that claimed his life in the early morning Sept. 20 .

"To lose him in such a tragic and unfair way breaks my heart, and I just appreciate everybody that's been there," Dara Radford said. "I appreciate the support."

As the balloons rose, Aaron's loved ones consoled each other — some holding burning candles. His grandmother Rene said Aaron was a youth basketball coach who made time for everyone.

"This is devastating, I don't even think that people realize the death that he had on our family," Rene Radford said.
