Rain and thunderstorms are expected to arrive in Reno this week and temperatures could to continue to drop as Northern Nevada moves from late September to early October.

Monday is expected to be the hottest day of the week with a high of 74 before temperatures dip to the lower 70s and high 60s later in the week. Monday is also the day it is most likely to rain with a 50% chance of showers during the day and a 30% chance at night. Wednesday night into Thursday morning are also expected to see a 20% chance of rain showers with sunny days expected throughout the rest of the week.

Meanwhile, rain and high winds are expected to come to the greater Lake Tahoe area. Tahoe could also see snow at high elevations early this week.
