Florence Welch is detailing a scary moment in her life.

Years after canceling a slew of shows for an undisclosed medical emergency in 2023, the Florence & the Machine singer shared that she nearly died due to an ectopic pregnancy that occurred just before her 37 th birthday.

“ The closest I came to making life was the closest I came to death,” Florence, 39, recalled to The Guardian in an interview published Sept. 27. “I felt like I had stepped through this door, and it was just full of women, screaming.”

And while “The Dog Days are Over” singer canceled shows amid recovery from the emergency surgery that saved her life, she actually performed a show in the middle of experiencing the life-threatening miscarriage.
