The local Ivy Tech Community College campus announced today it will close a building this week as it prepares for its $66 million makeover.

Announced nearly two years ago, the Ivy Tech Fort Wayne capital improvement project calls for renovations of multiple buildings, the demolition of two halls and the addition of a nursing and health sciences facility.

Wednesday's closure will affect the Student Life Center on the college's North campus, an area near St. Joe and Stellhorn roads that also includes Harshman Hall and the Steel Dynamics Inc. Keith E. Busse Technology Center.

Renovations at the Student Life Center are anticipated to begin in January following a groundbreaking later this year. The building is expected to reopen as a centralized student services hub in spring 2027, according
