Democratic state lawmakers are hosting town hall meetings in Lake and Porter counties Saturday to speak against a proposal to immediately redraw Indiana's nine congressional districts to more heavily favor Republican candidates in next year's elections.

The Lake County event is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Laborers' Local 41, 550 Superior Ave., Munster. It will feature brief remarks, a redistricting question-and-answer session, and public forum to comment on redistricting and other challenges facing Region communities.

Scheduled to participate in the listening session are state Reps. Mike Andrade, D-Munster; Earl Harris Jr., D-East Chicago; Carolyn Jackson, D-Hammond; and Ed Delaney, D-Indianapolis.
