Laurentian University’s Keon Wallingford continued his fast start to the 2025 OUA cross-country season this past weekend, turning in a gold-medal performance at the Don Mills Open.

Running with the lead pack for the entire six-kilometre race, hosted by the University of Waterloo, Wallingford surged over the final 500 metres to claim the victory by a nine-second margin.

The fifth-year social work student from North Bay crossed the finish line in 18:29 to become the first individual winner of a major OUA race since Eric Gareau won the same Waterloo Open title in 2019.
