YANKTON, S.D. (KTIV) - A man facing a murder charge after a woman was found decapitated is expected to have his trial next year.
Court documents filed in Yankton County, South Dakota, show Craig Nichols Jr. has his jury trial scheduled for June 2026. According to those documents, the jury trial is to begin on June 15, 2026, and go through July 2, 2026. Nichols has waived his right to a speedy trial.
He faces several charges, including first-degree murder, second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter after authorities say he killed Heather Ann Bodden. He pleaded not guilty to those charges earlier this year.
