BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Two men were sentenced for their roles in a fatal July 2023 shooting in Buffalo's Willert Park neighborhood, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced Monday.
At 3 a.m. on July 22, police responded to the shooting on Genesee Street near Mortimer Street, where three people were shot outside of a tavern.
Two people, a 33-year-old male and a 44-year-old male, were taken to ECMC by ambulance, where they received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The third victim, 31-year-old Devin Lockwood, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A jury found Ernest Brown, 42, guilty of one count of second-degree murder and one count of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon in July of this year. He was sentenced on Monday to 25 years to life in prison.
