(NEXSTAR) – A Houston school was ranked in the top 25 of best public elementary schools and K-12 schools in America for 2026.

The Spring Branch Academic Institute, a gifted school in Spring Branch ISD, was ranked No. 25 in the nation.

According to SBISD, the Institute "is a school-within-a-school, where kindergarten through fifth-grade students are hosted at Thornwood Elementary, sixth through eighth-grade students take electives at Spring Forest Middle, and ninth through 12th-grade students are a part of Stratford High School."
